Welcome

The Village Bookshop has a great reputation for being helpful, friendly and providing an excellent service. As a provider of new general books we can cater for everyone and every occasion. We try to have a little bit of everything in the shop but if the subject you are interested in is missing just let us know and we can usually order in something for you to have a look at.

Next Signing: On Saturday 11th February between 11am and 1pm, Peter Baker will be visiting the shop to sign copies of his book “The Jolly Pilgrim” (£9.99)
Peter is the “Jolly Pilgrim” and has written the story of his bicycle ride across Europe into North Africa and then on to Australia and ultimately South America.
Peter swims the Bosporus and works in a drag club, hitchhikes across Australia
and dances salsa in an Ecuadorian prison and shares his philosophy on the human condition as he does it all.
This is an uplifting travelogue and is for anyone who has an interest in travel,  adventure or philosophy.

On 17th March Christine Truman will join us from 11am to 1pm to sign copies of her new children's book "Billy's Magic Football Boots", a charming story,  which has once again been beautifully illustrated by Liz Summers.

On Thursday 29th March Patrick Gale, author of "Rough Music" and "Notes from an Exhibition" will be with us from 4pm to 6pm to sign copies of his new book "A Perfectly Good Man". (I have had the privilege of reading a proof of Patrick's new book and it is again set in Cornwall and lived up to all my expectations of fascinating characters and an intriguing story line - Alison)

It's not a website where you do on-line ordering because at the end of the day we pride ourselves on the personal service we provide in the shop. If you are too busy to pop in though you can always call us or email us. We like to hear from you whatever the method of communication.

If you let us have your email address we will also keep you updated on any forthcoming promotions and special events such as author signings.
